    Some highlights of today's conversation:

    • The city has serious budget issues that will require innovative thinking to fund education and economic development.

       
    • The Mayor seeks support in furthering development at Yonkers Raceway to possibly include a convention center or sports arena.

       
    • Yonkers Raceway returns $20 million directly to Yonkers Public School and is the city's largest tax payer and employer.

    • Mayor Spano would like to develop a SUNY campus in Yonkers, saying that Yonkers is the only city in the state without a SUNY campus.

       
    • The Mayor would like to explore public/private partnerships for school construction.

    • Yonkers's close proximity to New York City, and Westchester's business hubs make it an outstanding location for young professionals to live.
