    The events unfolded during a County Board of Legislators meeting when two Democrats, Virginia Perez of Yonkers and Mike Kaplowitz of Somers, broke party ranks to form a bipartisan coalition with Republican colleagues to reject the Board's budget which has been described as "political in nature."

    The Westchester County Association commends the actions of Legislators Virginia Perez and Mike Kaplowitz, who bravely defied party politics, to put the needs of the public first.  It was a true example of public service.
