  • For the second year, WCA's Young Professionals Group is spearheading a Day of Service in partnership with Volunteer New York! to mobilize one hundred volunteers at Volunteer New York's annual 9/11 Serve + Remember Day of Service. Together, we are offering WCA supporters an exclusive hour and a half of a variety of projects, all under one roof, that will make a huge impact in our community.

    Please join us and encourage your employees, peers, colleagues, and especially the young professionals, to participate on Friday, September 9, at the Westchester County Center from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM.

    Registration is required for all volunteers; limited to the first 100 registrants.

    1) Creating No Sew Fleece Blankets - Volunteers will work in pairs to 25 create no-sew fleece blankets that will be given to children in need through Project Linus.   

    2) Creating The Very Hungry Caterpillar Literacy Enrichment Activities - Volunteers will cut out and laminate a large Hungry Caterpillar and the foods eaten. Children will use these activities to reinact the book. 

    3) Creating Geometry Memory Games  - Volunteers will create Geometry Memory Games for children in the WestCOP Head Start Program. 

    4) Creating Thank You Cards for First Responders - Volunteers will create cards and attach them to rice krispie treats. These will be distributed to first responders around Westchester.
