Make
Cash King We have all heard
the expression, "Cash is King!" This is especially true in a

Karen Spencer, President & Creative
Director - Karen Spencer Design, Inc.
Shortly after Karen
Spencer became a WCA member about a year ago, a perception she had about the
organization proved to be erroneous with positive consequences for her
business.
Her misperception was
that the Westchester County Association was primarily focused on large
corporations and less so on small firms like her Armonk-based advertising
agency. But, then she was introduced to CONNECTIONS, the new membership
category that The WCA created to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and professionals
like her who represent the largest and fastest growing sector. "I was
impressed how The WCA was reaching out to small businesses like mine with
value-added programs and services." She soon joined the CONNECTIONS
Advisory Committee.
She also discovered
that relationship building is one of The WCA's strongest assets. That
happened when she met Bob Roth, of John Meyer Consulting, who warmly welcomed
her to The WCA. She learned that Mr. Roth and the firm were business
neighbors in Armonk where her business has been based for the past 19 years.
"We quickly became friends and he introduced me to other business
people. I was then invited to redesign his firm's website. "
Ms. Spencer earned a
B.A. in Fine Arts from the University
of Bridgeport and an
M.S. in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. She and her husband - who
enjoy ballroom dancing - live in New
Rochelle with their four children.
