Description

To support the implementation of solar, heat pumps, and electric vehicle clean energy solutions, NYSERDA has developed Loan Loss Reserve to expand clean energy financing coverage. This program will allow your business to tap into new revenue streams, reach new customers, and build greener communities, while lowering your financial risk.

How the Program Works

Through the Loan Loss Reserve Program, the State will cover up to 90% of Qualifying Eligible Losses on defaulted loans, in the form of a credit enhancement, provided at no cost to you or your customers. The added risk mitigation allows you to approve a wider set of customers or offer more competitive rates and terms.

Eligibility

Qualified financing lenders— including local and regional banks, community-based lenders, and other financial firms— that will develop financing products related to energy efficiency upgrades for residential (1-4 unit) dwellings, small commercial (100 employees or less), not-for-profit and multifamily (5+ unit) buildings (Eligible Properties) located in New York State Communities. NYSERDA encourages institutions working with disadvantaged communities to apply to this program, to make energy solutions more equitable across New York State
