Gigabit Westchester

Today’s economy depends on a robust digital infrastructure. How is the WCA pioneering an effort to make gigabit-plus-speed connectivity the new standard across Westchester?

Advancing the Innovation Economy

While high-speed broadband seems ubiquitous, it’s not the case. Super high-speed broadband is the essential foundation to advance innovation and smart growth in our region including: advancing telemedicine, supporting a growing remote workforce, creating more “connected” cities for municipal efficiencies and tax-payer savings, and enhancing our education system.

Leading the Charge

WCA is coordinating a region-wide effort to create a new model that will give Westchester an edge, by streamlining broadband deployment and upgrades and encouraging investment from both wired and wireless providers.

Closing the Digital Divide

Lack of access to affordable and reliable internet puts our students and workforce at a competitive disadvantage. In partnership with local schools and libraries, as well as the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and banking institutions, WCA is facilitating projects to meet the needs of our underserved communities.
