With a Smart Meter, a digital meter that communicates between a residence or business and Con Edison over a secure wireless communication network, commercial and multifamily complex billing customers gain access to cost and usage trends, interval data, and personalized energy insights. Users receive custom energy efficiency opportunities and recommendations based on monthly, daily, and real-time energy usage, as well as the ability to download and safely share energy data with contractors and other third parties to optimize energy use by a business, facility, or multifamily building.
How it Works
Two weeks after the meter is installed, tools access will become available on My Account to track your energy use and identify saving opportunities.
Open eligibility for Commercial and Multifamily properties. Building owners of multifamily buildings cannot block their tenant(s) from installing smart meters if the tenants want one installed.

Commercial or multifamily building owners, operators, or tenants interested in a smart meter should call Con Edison smart meter group at 1.800.576.2005 or Con Edison’s contractor, Southern Cross, at 1.888.201.9928, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
