Energy & Sustainability

With the passage of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, New York now has one of the strongest climate change laws in the world. In order to meet these ambitious goals and become a leader in the fight for a clean energy future, professional stakeholders across the political spectrum will need to be proactive.

A Plan of Advocacy, Education, and Action

More and more, organizations focused on long-term success are embracing the critical concepts of sustainability management. The WCA has developed an advocacy, education, and action plan to help our members address these challenges and move our economy towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Programs & Initiatives
The WCA has outlined and is advocating for recommended policies and transitional incentives to help businesses in our region bridge the gap between traditional energy sources and a carbon free economy.
The WCA has partnered with Pace University’s Energy and Climate Center to curate this dynamic searchable guide to available clean energy programs and incentives for businesses in Westchester and the surrounding region. Use the portal to easily access the range of programs and resources (financial and otherwise) available to help transition your business or building to a low carbon footprint.
Sustainability in business is not just about climate change. It’s about corporate social responsibility and institutionalized fairness. It’s about utilizing available resources with maximum efficiency and minimal waste. Most importantly, it’s about developing a long-term strategic business model for innovation, profitability and enduring success. The WCA has partnered with Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business to provide an on-line course in organizational sustainability for working professionals. The WCA’s goal is to train thought leaders with the necessary analytical tools to originate, market, and lead sustainability initiatives in a variety of professional contexts.
