Description

The Cooperative Advertising and Training Program for Clean Energy Partners (PON 4482) program aims to provide cost-sharing incentives for promoting eligible clean energy technologies in New York State. These technologies include cold-climate air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and energy efficiency measures such as air sealing and insulation. The program supports advertising, special promotions, events, and training activities to drive the adoption of clean energy with an emphasis on influencing the market by promoting the benefits of clean energy technologies. Eligible activities must focus on sales, design, and/or proper installation of these technologies.

Eligibility

Eligible Coop Partners include heat pump manufacturers, system distributors, and installers, as well as contractors/installers who have an executed partnership agreement through certain utility and state energy efficiency program, including the utility-run NYS Clean Heat incentive program and NYSERDA’s Comfort Home, Residential Energy Audits, EmPower+, Green Jobs – Green New York residential loan fund, or Clean Heating and Cooling Communities programs.

How the Program Works

NYSERDA will pay up to 50% of the cost of approved advertising or training activities. Annual caps presented below are set based on participant types, and the program supports marketing efforts that are both impactful and cost-effective. The evaluation criteria includes cost-effectiveness, lead generation potential, reach/impact, messaging, and overall content quality. Annual caps are renewed annually on January 1st and submissions must be planned and completed within 1-year of the submission date.

How to Apply

Eligible Clean Energy partners must complete and submit the Cooperative Advertising and Training Application with related back-up documentation. Application submissions will be evaluated within 15 business days. Incomplete or insufficient applications will be rejected, but applicants have the option to revise and resubmit previously rejected applications.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until December 31, 2024, or until funds are exhausted. Applicants are required to demonstrate their ability to influence the market and promote the benefits of clean energy technologies, and covered activities should focus on sales, design, and installation of eligible clean energy technologies.
