Description

The Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program (MFEEP) incentivizes installation of energy-efficient electric and gas equipment and technology, to reduce energy usage and costs through one of two pathways: the prescriptive path and the custom path. The Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program Manual provides further information on each pathway, including incentive rates for applications submitted on or after July 10, 2023.

Eligibility

Owners of existing multifamily residential buildings with 5+ units are eligible for this qualification. New Construction is not eligible. Applicant must use Con Edison gas and/or electric delivery services. For gas projects, applicants with a SC-14 service class or who are receiving negotiated contract service are not eligible. Applicants must not have applied or received an incentive for the same eligible measure from NYSERDA or any other entity. Applicant must allow a pre-inspection and have received a Notice to Proceed before equipment can be installed. Substantial renovations (change of use or reconstruction of an existing building or space within, or construction requiring the building to be out of service for at least 30 consecutive days) will not receive support.

How to Apply

  1. Use the info graphic on the program website to identify building energy efficiency upgrade areas.
  2. Submit an interest form to Con Edison’s authorized contractor Willdan Energy Solutions to receive information on applicable incentives and applicant specific application process details.
  3. Select a participating contractor to work with.
  4. Complete an application, including all applicable tools and forms.

After the project is approved and completed, the incentive is mailed to the customer, or directly to the Participating Contractor with customer approval.
