Description:
Utilizing partnerships and industry expertise, the U.S. DOT’s Small Business Transportation Resource Centers (SBTRCs) provide business counseling that includes market research, training, certification, and procurement technical assistance transportation-related contracts, including those that involve electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging infrastructure. DOT has 11 Small Business Transportation Centers, each serving a region of the country. The SBTRCs provide an array of services including business analysis, market research and procurement assistance, general management assistance, business counseling, and can serve as a liaison between prime contractors and sub-contractors. The Small Business Transportation Centers also assist with identifying access to capital and administering the Bonding Education Program and Women and Girls in Transportation Initiative programs. All services are provided free of charge.

How the Program Works
LaGuardia Community College (LGCC) of New York is a grantee of the U.S. Department of Transportation and hosts the Northeast Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC). The Northeast SBTRC serves the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Headquartered in New York City, the LGCC provides small, disadvantaged businesses technical assistance in the areas of procurement, short-term financing, surety bonding, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification to help new and emerging businesses obtain transportation-related contracts, including those that involve electric vehicles (EVs) and EV charging infrastructure. Their workshops, webinars, as well as counseling, are held in both English and Spanish.
