Dr.  Leonardo V. Lopez, M.D., serves as Vice Chair for Inpatient Services in the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell medicine, a position he has held since February of 2023. In this role, Dr. Lopez is responsible for collaborating with NewYork-Presbyterian leadership to contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the psychiatry inpatient hospital services at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Behavioral Health, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist, and Gracie Square Hospital.

Dr. Lopez is a summa cum laude graduate of Columbia University, where he studied mathematics and physics. After spending several years teaching high school mathematics in New York City, Dr. Lopez enrolled in Northwestern University School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree after being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Dr. Lopez completed an internship in Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine before switching his field of study to psychiatry. He completed a residency and chief residency at the Zucker Hillside Hospital/Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, and subsequently completed a research fellowship in schizophrenia at the same institution. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Lopez assumed leadership of one of the hospital’s primary residency teaching units, as well as assuming the role of Director of Research Operations.

After four years at Zucker Hillside Hospital, Dr. Lopez joined the faculty of New York University Grossman School of Medicine, taking the position of Director of Inpatient Psychiatry at NYC Health + Hospitals Bellevue in March of 2018. In this role, Dr. Lopez managed a 7-unit, 188-bed service caring for New York’s most marginalized patients, with services including medical psychiatry, co-occurring disorders, and cross-cultural psychiatry. He was promoted to Assistant Chief of Psychiatry in 2020 and Associate Chief in 2021, and in September of 2021 also assumed leadership of the hospital’s 2-unit, 68-bed service for patients in the custody of the city’s Department of Corrections. Additionally, from 2019 forward he worked as the Director of Interventional Psychiatry, introducing a variety of novel programs to benefit patients with serious mental illnesses.

Dr. Lopez has won numerous awards for his contributions to clinical care and education, including the American Psychiatric Association’s Irma Bland Award for Excellence in Teaching Residents; NYC Health + Hospitals 2019 Award for Excellence in Performance Improvement among Acute Care Services; NYU Psychiatry’s Clinical Mentor of the Year Award in 2022; and Bellevue Hospital’s 2022 Physician of the Year. 

Lindsay Farrell has worked at Open Door Family Medical Center beginning in 1986, serving as its second President and CEO since 1998. Under her leadership, Open Door has significantly expanded, adding new locations, programs and technologies to more than triple the number of low-income people served each year to 60,000 people served in 2024. Home-grown at Open Door where she volunteered initially, Ms. Farrell has served in both operational and fund-raising roles.  Her north star is Open Door’s mission of health equity–serving vulnerable people in the community with an array of efficient, high quality health care and supportive services.

Today, Open Door is accredited by the Joint Commission, recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home with Integrated Behavioral Health, is designated as a Quality Leader by the Department of Health and Human Services and has twice won the prestigious national Davies Award from HIMSS, the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society.

Ms. Farrell is a Corporate Director of MVP Health Plan, a non-profit health insurer in upstate New York; She was appointed by Governor Hochul and serves on the Public Health and Hospital Planning Council of the New York State Department of Health.   She has held numerous Board Leadership Positions in a variety of health-related organizations.

Ms. Farrell is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and received her Master’s in Business Administration from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives and was recognized by Westchester Magazine  and by City & State as one of Westchester’s most influential residents. She is also the recipient of the Sol Feinstein Community Service Award from St. Lawrence University and the Betsy Cooke Grassroots Advocacy Award from the National Association of Community Health Centers.

Lindsay is an avid age-group senior triathlete and competes nationally and internationally for Team USA.

Michael Orth, who has worked in the human services sector for over 36 years, joined the Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health (DCMH) in 1993, and was appointed Commissioner January 2018 after serving as Deputy Commissioner from 2009 to 2017. The Department of Community Mental Health, a branch of county government, is responsible for planning, oversight, education and coordination of services and supports for individuals, and their families, with mental illness, developmental/intellectual disabilities and substance use challenges. Under the general direction of the County Executive and in accordance with New York State Mental Hygiene Laws, Michael serves as chief executive officer and is responsible for the operation and administration of the department.

In 2020, Michael was appointed by the Governor to serve on the New York State Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council, he holds the position of 1^st Vice Chair of the NY State Conference of Local Mental Hygiene Directors (NYS CLMHDS) Executive Board, Chair of the NYS CLMHD Children and Families Committee, and appointed by NYS Office of Mental Health on Daniel’s Law Task Force.  Locally Michael serves as Co-Chair of the Westchester County Opioid Response and Overdose Prevention Initiative (ORI), and Co-Chair of Westchester County’s Coordinated Children’s Services Initiative (CCSI) Planning Committee.

He has previously held several positions in Children’s Mental Health Services at DCMH since 1993 assisting in the development of Westchester County’s System of Care for children with emotional, social and behavioral challenges, and their families. This includes working collaboratively with other child-serving systems at a federal, state and county level.

Michael graduated from the Iona College BSW program and MSW at Fordham’s Graduate School of Social Service.

Michael is the recipient of NAMI NY State “Dr. Lew Opler Award” 2023 and NYS Office of Mental Health “What’s Great in our State” Lifetime Achievement Award, 2024.

Keeva Young-Wright is a senior healthcare executive, currently serving as Vice President, Operations & Foundation at Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH), where she is a member of the hospital’s senior leadership team. In this dual role, Keeva strategically develops, implements, and oversees comprehensive operational and strategic plans to ensure the highest levels of patient satisfaction, service quality, employee engagement, and financial stewardship.

Keeva provides operational leadership for multiple departments, including the Cancer Center, Laboratory, Imaging, Volunteer Services, Food and Nutrition, Patient and Customer Experience, Chaplaincy, Internal Communications, the Ken Hamilton Caregivers Center, Community Health, the Chappaqua Crossing Campus, and the Foundation. She recently helped to lead the launch of a new outpatient behavioral health practice for children and adolescents in Westchester, showcasing her commitment to expanding cost-effective, high-quality patient care programs in alignment with the organization’s mission and vision.

In her capacity, Keeva leads and supports diverse operational projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. She works closely with the hospital’s board, medical leadership, and department heads, building consensus and influencing strategic direction. She leverages her experience in leadership development to foster a culture of engagement, innovation, and teamwork—mentoring leaders, promoting open communication, and implementing organizational development initiatives that strengthen morale and support talent growth.

Since joining NWH in 2013 as President of the Foundation and Vice President of External Affairs, Keeva has been instrumental in raising over $110 million for critical hospital initiatives, leading major capital campaigns and driving successful fundraising strategies. Promoted in 2021 to Associate Executive Director, Operations, she expanded her portfolio to include the oversight of hospital-wide operations and patient care programs, consistently delivering improvements in quality of service, team engagement, and community health programs.

Keeva is a champion of healthcare equity, serving as an active member and leader of Northwell’s African American and Caribbean Business Employee Resource Group (BERG), where she advances initiatives to address health disparities and improve access for underserved populations. She is a graduate of Northwell’s Executive Leadership Development Program, the Cornell Executive Leadership Development Program and the CrossRoads Program.

Keeva holds an MBA, a Certificate in Healthcare Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, all from Iona University.

Dr. Steven S. Shainmark is the Associate Medical Director and Director of Psychiatry at White Plains Hospital. Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Shainmark earned his medical degree from New York Medical College (NYMC), after which he served a residency in psychiatry at the NYMC Training Consortium, where he was named chief psychiatric resident.

Dr. Shainmark has held positions at a number of area institutions, including as Associate Director of Psychiatry at both St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester and at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and as Acting Medical Director – Behavioral Health at UnitedHealthcare/Oxford Health Plans in Bridgeport, CT.

In addition, he has served as a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and as a volunteer faculty instructor of bioethics, both at NYMC; an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Montefiore-Einstein; and a police instructor at Westchester County and New York State police departments.

Dr. Shainmark is a distinguished fellow at the American Psychiatric Association. an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Montefiore Einstein
