Wondering what telemedicine is and when to use it? You’re not alone.
One of the challenges many people are encountering right now is how to meet with their doctors for a non-emergency medical condition or illness. Telemedicine, or a virtual visits, is the remote diagnosis and treatment of a patient through communication technology such as video conferencing or a phone call.
For many people, virtual visits are a convenient way to see their doctors from the safety and comfort of their home. They can also be used to advise patients who are presenting with COVID-19 symptoms whether or not they need to go to a hospital.
Join Dr. Patricia Calayag, deputy medical director of Westmed Medical Group, when she joins Amy Allen, vice president of the Westchester County Association, to chat about telemedicine.
