Description:
Through the Green Jobs, Green New York (GJFNY) Residential Financing Program, NYSERDA offers loans to help finance energy audits and energy efficiency for renewable energy installations for one to four story family buildings.
How it Works:
As a participating contractor, your customers have access to GJGNY Loans to finance their clean energy transition.
Eligibility:
Energy Efficiency contractors participating in the EmPower+, the Comfort Home Pilot or the Residential Energy Assessment programs are already approved and eligible to participate in the GJFNY Residential Financing Program.
Solar (PV) installers must either already participate in or apply to become a NY-Sun Participating Contractor.
Air Source (ASHP) and Ground Source (GSHP) Heat Pump Contractors must either already participate in or apply to become either a NYS Clean Heat participating contractor or a PSEG Long Island Home Comfort Partner.
How to Apply:
Step 1-
Energy Efficiency- Contractors in EmPower+, Comfort Home Pilot or Residential Energy Assessment Program are pre-approved as participating contractors. Proceed to Step 3. If you are a PSEG Long Island Home Performance Partner or not participating in the aforementioned programs, complete Step 2 and Step 3 below.
Solar (PV) Installer– You must be a NY-Sun Participating Contractor to participate. If you are already a participant, you may proceed to Step 3. If you are not a participant, become a NY-Sun Participating Contractor before applying to GJFNY Residential Financing Program.
Air Source (ASHP) and Ground Source (GSHP) Heat Pump Contractors– You must be a NYS Clean Heat participating contractor or PSEG Long Island Home Comfort Partners to participate. If you are already a participant, you may proceed to Step 2 and Step 3. If you are not a participant, become a NYS Clean Heat Participating Contractor or a PSEG Long Island Home Comfort Partner before applying to GJFNY Residential Financing Program.
Step 2-
If you are 1) NYS Clean Heat participating contractor, 2) PSEG Long Island Home Comfort Partner, 3) PSEG Long Island Homer Performance Partner, or 4) energy efficiency contractor not participating in EmPower+, Comfort Home Pilot, or Residential Energy Assessment Programs–submit a Contractor Application. Refer to the Participation Agreement and the GJGNY Financing Program Manual while completing your application.
Step 3-
Complete a Participation Agreement and other requested information from Energy Finance Solutions.
Step 4-
Once you are approved, you may begin offering customers financing options to assist with energy efficiency measures or renewable technology you install. See the Residential Financing Program website, for information on contractor advance payment options.
