Description

The NYSERDA Heat Recovery Project Development Program aims to stimulate the adoption of heat recovery solutions in New York State by providing cost-share support for two key activities: Heat Recovery Opportunity Assessments and Heat Recovery Project Design. The program targets existing multifamily, commercial, institutional, industrial, and manufacturing buildings, offering funding to assess and implement heat recovery measures to enhance energy efficiency.

Eligibility

The program is open to existing multifamily, commercial, institutional, industrial, and manufacturing buildings and facilities in New York State. Both building owners and operators, as well as consulting engineers and heat recovery solution providers, are eligible to apply.

How the Program Works:

Category 1 – Heat Recovery Opportunity Assessments: This category provides funding for consultants to assess a property’s heat recovery potential by quantifying rejected heat and exploring cost-effective measures. The goal is to supply building owners with data to inform their decision on proceeding with a heat recovery project. Funding is available for up to 75%, with a maximum of $40,000 for completed opportunity assessments.

Category 2 – Heat Recovery Project Design: Consultants can receive funding to develop an economically and technically viable design for implementing a heat recovery system in an existing property. This includes recovery from various systems and processes, with funding available for up to 75%, with a maximum of $80,000 for completed designs. Participation in Category 1 is not a prerequisite for Category 2.

Full program details are available here.
